About Lyra

Lyra is a wireless LED light bar for every spot at home that never got a plug socket: the back of the wardrobe, under the kitchen cupboards, along the hallway wall.

It sits on clips that you stick up — the adhesive is already on the clips. Then you simply push or slide the bar into them. No screws, no cables in the wall, no electrician. Barely 1 cm thick, so you'll hardly notice it when it's off.

A press of the button switches between steady light, night-time sensor, round-the-clock sensor and off. A long press adjusts the brightness.

Lyra is made for sensor mode. It comes on when you move and goes off once you've gone, and that way a single charge lasts for weeks. Leave it on constantly at full brightness and the battery lasts about 3 hours — that's a setting for the moment, not for the whole evening.

The number of light points goes with the length: 20 cm has 2 light points, 40 cm has 3 and 50 cm has 4. The more points, the wider the area it lights up.

Lyra switched on along a shelf edge in a wardrobe, a warm glow over the folded jumpers

The wardrobe's been dark for three years. It took ten seconds to sort.

Every home has places that never got a plug socket. The back of the wardrobe. Under the kitchen cupboards, where the chopping board lives. The hallway at six in the morning, when you don't want to put the big light on and wake the whole house.

Lyra sorts them out without turning it into a project. Stick up the clips and slide the bar on — job done. No electrician, no cables in the wall, no lead that has to reach a socket. Set it to sensor and forget about it — one charge lasts for weeks.

Hands chopping an onion on a kitchen worktop in their own shadow, while Lyra lights up the worktop further along

You're chopping onions in your own shadow.

The chopping board sits in shadow, because the kitchen light is behind you. You stand with the door open, hunting for the black jumper in a wardrobe where everything is black. You put the hallway light on at six and get a face full of harsh white light.

With Lyra up, the light over the chopping board comes on as you step up to it, the wardrobe gets a warm band of light along the shelf edge when you open the door, and the hallway glows softly the moment your feet touch the floor. It switches itself off once you've gone. Same rooms. No renovation. No drill.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. That's the whole point. No drilling, no holes, nothing to put right when you move out. You just take it with you.
With USB-C, the same cable most phones use. Slide the bar off the clips, charge it, then slide it back on. The clips stay where they are. A full charge takes about an hour.
It depends entirely on the mode. On sensor, Lyra only comes on when you move and switches itself off again — so a charge lasts for weeks. Leave it on constantly at full brightness and the battery lasts about 3 hours. That's not what it's made for: if you want a light that stays on all evening, Lyra isn't the one to buy. If you want light in the wardrobe, the drawer and the hallway exactly when you need it, it's the right lamp.
Yes. The button switches between steady light, night-time sensor, round-the-clock sensor and off. If you only want it on when you say so, set it to steady light — just bear in mind the battery then lasts about 3 hours at full brightness.
3000K on the warm setting — warm white, not the bluish white you've got in the ceiling. That's the one for evenings. 4000K is neutral, 6000K is white and crisp.
Yes, with a long press of the button.
20 cm has 2 light points, 40 cm has 3 and 50 cm has 4. The more points, the wider the area it lights up — so measure the space before you choose a length.
No. Lyra is a ready-made bar in three fixed lengths, not an LED strip you cut to size.
